Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be a very useful and effective means of treatment for certain conditions in may species of animals and has been used at the practice in dogs, cats and rabbits. The most common conditions that acupuncture is used for are those relating to the bones and muscles, these include arthritis, back pain, soft tissue injuries, muscle strains/sprains. It can however be useful in other areas as well such as wound healing.

Acupuncture is a safe and non painful treatment using needles placed in specific points in the body. It is usually tolerated very well in animals and is done conscious with no form of sedation at all. We are happy to treat animals in the consult rooms and most of the owners are keen to stay with their animals and watch the procedure. Acupuncture can be used alongside conventional medications and treatments and usually works best this way, as part of a complete treatment regime.
